Wesley
Morgan, a native of Sarasota FL, received his
B.M in voice from Florida Southern College in
2002, where he studied with world reknowned mezzo-soprano,
Beverly Wolff. Favorite thearical roles include
"Tony" in Masterclass, "Gary"
in Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All,
"Sid el Kar" in The Desert Song,
"Touchstone" in As You Like It,
"William" in How the Other Half
Loves, "Mr. Smith" in The Bald
Soprano, "Balder" in the world
premeire of the Kendedy Center Award winning play
Radiant Boys, "Prince Lenyr"
in the premiere of the operetta Elizabeth
of Russia, and "Kaldi" in the American
premeier of the children's opera Arabica.
Last summer Wesley appeared as "Count Almaviva"
in a cover cast performance of Il Barbiere
di Siviglia with the St. Petersberg Opera
in Florida. Concert credits include tenor soloist
in the Messiah with the Imperial Symphony
Orchestra in Lakeland, FL, Saint-saens' Christmas
Oratorio, Schubert's Mass in G,
Dubois' Seven Last Words of Christ, and
Pergolesi's Gloria.
While
in Florida, Wesley served as adjunct voice faculty
at the prestigious Harrison Perorming Arts School
for 5 years. After graduating, he served as the
musical director for Florida Southern College's
Theatre department, where he played and directed
such shows as Into the Woods and Threepenny
Opera. He also was musical director for the
Pied Piper Players, where in addition to playing
and directing main stage shows, was the musical
director for the children's theatre program, in
which he collaborated on the wolrd premiere of
the children's musical Mother Goose is Cooked.
Currently
Wesley is persuing his Masters degree at Georgia
State University, where last semester he appeared
as "Will Tweedy" in Cold Sassy Tree,
and as "Count Fromagio" in Pizza
con Funghi. In GSU's upcoming production
of Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Wesley will
play "Spalanzani", "Schlemil",
and in act III, "Hoffmann". Wesley recently
won first place in his division at Georgia NATS.
