Emily
Parrott, soprano, brings to the stage a wide variety
of performance experience in both musical theater
and opera. Emily has been seen around Atlanta
in numerous productions with such companies as
The Atlanta Opera, Capital City Opera, The Atlanta
Lyric Theatre, and Black Bear Dinner Theater.
With Capitol City Opera she regularly tours as
Gretel in Hansel and Gretel. Other roles
include Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Maria
in The Sound of Music, Lauretta in
Gianni Schicchi, Anne Page in The Merry
Wives of Windsor, Laetitia in The Old
Maid and the Thief, and Papagena in The
Magic Flute. In the Summer of 2005 she toured
Italy in the role of La Virtu in Monteverdi’s
L’Incoronazione di Poppea.
In
addition to her experience as a professional,
Emily has appeared in numerous roles and opera
scenes at Valdosta State University and Georgia
State University. Emily received the Bachelor
of Music degree from Valdosta State University
and the Master of Music degree from Georgia State
University, both in vocal performance. She teaches
voice at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta.
